God Made a Covenant with this Nation
Before establishing the first permanent English colony in America at Jamestown, the settlers first landed at Cape Henry at the junction of the Atlantic Ocean and the Chesapeake Bay. There they paused to give thanks to God for their safe crossing. They dedicated the new land to God to be used as a base for missionary work in spreading the Gospel. (This purpose was a significant part of the charter which established their mission.)
God heard their prayer and honored the covenant which they made with Him. He keeps covenant with His people, but history has proven that people fail to uphold their covenant agreements. America is no exception. Yet God has called His people back to covenant. But who is listening? Not even the church is America seems to be listening. However, God is speaking to intercessors who are listening and He will accept their sincere and heartfelt prayers on behalf of the nation as he did for Daniel on behalf of Israel.
God needs our prayers. We need you to join with us in prayer. But first we must understand the nature of the problem. Where did we go wrong as a nation and what must we do? When Peter preached on the day of Pentecost and the people began to understand, they said: "What must we do?"
We have spent time listening to God in our prayers as have many of you. We need to share these insights. And we need to pray as God directs us. It is far too late for any church "program" no matter how well intentioned.
